Browser extension
Protect AI chat used in a browser tab, alongside the Windows app
The SUPERWISE® Sentinel browser extension (Chrome and Edge) protects AI chat you use directly in a browser tab — a provider's own web UI — which the desktop redirect can't see. It works with the Sentinel Windows app: the extension talks to the local app and applies guardrails to browser chat traffic.
Install and connect the Sentinel Windows app first — the extension relies on the local app for its gateway connection and status.
Install (Chrome or Edge)
There's no Chrome Web Store listing yet, so it installs as an unpacked extension:
- In the Windows app, open the Extension tab to download the extension and see where it's saved. Extract it somewhere permanent — don't move or delete the folder afterward; the browser loads the extension from that folder every time it starts.
- Open
chrome://extensions(oredge://extensions). - Turn on Developer mode (top-right).
- Click Load unpacked and select the extracted folder — the one containing
manifest.json. - The SUPERWISE® Sentinel Browser Guard icon appears in your toolbar. Click it: if the Windows app is installed and connected, it already shows as protected.
Update
Download a fresh copy from the app's Extension tab, extract it over the old folder, then open chrome://extensions and click the refresh icon on the extension's card. Your site settings are preserved across the update.
Remove
On chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions), use Remove on the extension's card. This removes only the browser extension — the Windows app and its protection of your other tools are untouched.
