Deletes a guardrail by its ID. A deleted guardrail cannot be restored, and every agent that uses it loses its guardrail configuration.

When to use it

Use it only to remove a guardrail for good. To retire it and keep the option to restore it, use Archive a guardrail.

Required parameters

• guardrail_id (path): the ID of the guardrail.

Example request

Delete the guardrail GUARDRAIL_ID for good:

Replace YOUR_TOKEN with a bearer token. Creating a bearer token shows how to get one from the client ID and secret key you create in Generate access token. Before you run it, check which agents use the guardrail, since each of them loses its guardrail configuration.

Response

A successful call returns 204 No Content with an empty body.
